The leadership of Comins Community Church is anticipating reopening its facilities to the church and community on May 17, 2020. We are presenting the following temporary guidelines as we transition back into full church life.
As we have seen over the past weeks no one has the market on what is best for every person within this pandemic. For every precautionary step taken we can find both pro and con arguments for compliance. We are asking God’s people to be gracious with us and other people as God has called us to be and to follow the admonitions of Paul to the Romans:
Let love be without hypocrisy. Abhor what is evil. Cling to what is good. Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another; not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer; distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality. ~Romans 12:9-13
Using counsel from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Liberty Counsel, and the Family Research Council, your leaders are making the following recommendations. We know that for some they will seem too lax while others will interpret them as overkill. We’re seeking a balanced approached, striving to offer a safe worship environment where individual judgment and choice can both be honored.
An additional note about Risks. A news reporter was interviewing a spokesperson for Southwest Airlines the other day about their reopening of their airline services. She asked if Southwest would guarantee that no one would ever get COVID-19 from flying on their planes. The spokesperson of course answered that no entity will ever be able to make that kind of a guarantee. We all know that we take risks every day, many times during a day, in this fallen world. Understand that anyone attending our church services or entering our facilities has weighed the risks and believes that our sovereign God watches over each of us in both health and sickness. Our trust is in Him!
