1. Physical Distancing ~ We are encouraging people to respect other’s space. Families are encouraged to sit together. Please leave at least two chairs empty between parties. Every other row of chairs will be removed during May. We encourage you to fellowship after service, but for these three Sundays we discourage handshaking and hugging. The CDC continues to recommend the 6’ distancing policy.
2. Face Masks ~ The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is encouraging the use of cloth face masks inside public venues. They believe it will help prevent an asymptomatic carrier from passing the virus to another person. We are allowing individuals to thoughtfully choose whether to use a personal mask or not. Some have difficulty wearing masks and should not use one. No child less than two years old should wear a mask. We will have a supply of masks for anyone coming who would like one; however, we are not requiring mask use.
3. Sunday School and Children’s Ministry ~ We will not be offering Sunday school classes through May, but are intending to bring them back in by June 7. The nursery/tot time will not be staffed by volunteers in May, but the room will be available for parental use. Any toys that are played with should be placed in the marked clothes basket to be cleaned and sanitized before the next Sunday.
4. Welcoming Services ~ Entrance doors to the building will be propped open at the beginning and end of the service. A greeter will be stationed with hand sanitizer for those desiring it. Bulletins will be distributed by an usher with gloved hands.
5. Fellowship Foods and Beverages ~ We will offer water bottles but will not offer cookies/snacks or hot beverages at this time. Feel free to bring your own beverage in a cup with lid if you want. The drinking fountain will be temporarily unavailable.
6. Tithe & Offerings ~ A container will be available for those who would like to give to the Comins Community Church. The offering bags will not be passed in May. We are investigating electronic giving options at this time.
7. Restrooms ~ Our entire facility was thoroughly cleaned on May 14. The restrooms are now stocked with antibacterial soap for those preferring it. Wastebaskets have been moved by the doors so paper towels can offer protection from door handle contamination. As we all know and should practice, thorough hand washing is the best preventative tool against the spread of sickness and disease. Always wash your hands after using the restroom.
8. Chair Bibles & Hymnals ~ We have temporarily removed these from the chairs. Please bring your own Bibles and choose to sit where you will be able to read the worship songs and slide presentation on the screen.
9. Ceiling Fans ~ We will be running the ceiling fans in winter mode (drawing air up) on their lowest setting for added circulation. We will also enjoy fresh outside air if temperatures allow for it. You may consider having a sweater or jacket with you if you tend to feel cold.
As has been encouraged throughout this ordeal, it is best that anyone feeling sick or showing signs of illness should choose to remain home. If you believe your past or current health issues put you at higher risk, consider waiting a few more weeks before attending. We will have announcements and sermons available online (cominscc.weebly.com) or can mail a bulletin or CD to you upon request.
